Phil Everly Net Worth $20 Million

Phil Everly was raised with his older brother Don in Shenandoah, Iowa, by his father, Isaac Milford Everly, Jr., who was a former coal miner, musician and guitar player, and his mother, Margaret Embry Everly, a housewife. He went to Longfellow Elementary School in Waterloo, Iowa for a year, and then transferred to Shenandoah. As his father performed on the radio at that time, Phil and his brother sang with him in the show “Little Donnie And Baby Boy Phil”, so the family became well-known. In 1953, they moved to Knoxville, Tennessee, where Phil attended West High School. Two years later, he moved with Don to Nashville, Tennessee, while his parents relocated to Madison, Tennessee. There, Phil matriculated from Peabody Demonstration School in 1957.

While he lived in Knoxville, Phil and Don were spotted by Chet Atkins, who worked as the manager of RCA Victor’s studio in Nashville. Thus, they formed the duo called The Everly Brothers and moved there in order to pursue careers in the music industry. In 1957, they released the singles “Bye Bye Love” and “Wake Up Little Susie”, both of which topped on the country charts and were certified gold, which marked the beginning of his net worth and popularity. During the following year, they released two studio albums – “The Everly Brothers” and “Songs Our Daddy Taught Us”. In 1960, they also released “It’s Everly Time”, peaking at No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart, and “A Date With The Everly Brothers”, reaching No. 3 on the same chart.

Their first studio album in the next decade was “Both Sides Of An Evening” (1961), which didn’t have major success, however, Phil and Don continued to make music, releasing such albums as “Gone, Gone, Gone” (1964), “Two Yanks In England” (1966), and “Roots” (1968), among others, all of which added a considerable amount to his net worth. During the 1970s, they released only two studio albums “Stories We Could Tell” (1972) and “Pass The Chicken & Listen” in 1973, after which they split up and pursued careers. However, they reunited in 1984 and released the album “EB 84”. Moreover, they collaborated with Johnny Cash on the single “Ballad Of A Teenage Queen” in 1989.

To speak further about Phil’s musical career, he is also recognized as a single artist, who released his debut solo studio album entitled “Star Spangled Springer” in 1973. In the following year out came his second album – “Phil’s Diner” – after which he released “Mystic Line” in 1975. Phil also released two more solo albums “Living Alone” (1979) and the self-titled album in 1983, all of which increased his net worth.

Regarding to his personal life, Phil Everly was married three times, firstly to Jacqueline Alice Ertel from 1963 to 1970; the couple had a child together. He then married actress Patricia Mickey (1972-1978), with whom he also had a child. His third wife was Patrice Yvonne Arnold from 1999 until his death. He passed away at the age of 74 from pulmonary disease, on the 3rd January 2014 in Burbank, California, USA.
